Overview
I created this onboarding training for new graduate students, imagining that a client had requested an elearning module to accompany and reinforce an in-person or virtual synchronous training. This elearning module introduces department staff, policies and procedures, and the location of the university.
Problem
During the pandemic, many employers had to quickly move their onboarding and orientations online. To further personalize this and create a greater sense of community, I created this elearning module to accompany a remote, but synchronous, training. This training could be made available to students all across the world and could potentially work as a recruiting tool as well as a post-acceptance orientation.
Tools
I created this orientation using Storyline 360. In addition, I used freely-available university branding information to customize the look and feel to this specific university (colors, fonts, design choices).
